AHN COVID-19 FAQs
General
If a member of the host family or a guest in an AHN placement tests positive to COVID-19 – or is a close contact of someone with COVID-19 – that person must follow local health recommendations. Please ensure you contact AHN as soon as possible to advise of your situation if you are in an active placement.

Hosts
AHN continues to support all homestay participants and stakeholders in managing placements as COVID-19 has an ongoing impact on travel, study and daily life.
The AHN COVID-19 Safety Policy outlines expectations regarding health and safety and information for incoming students.
Hosts should allow their guest to isolate at home just as you would with your family members.
We have asked all active members of our host pool to contact us if they are not comfortable accommodating a student if they become unwell. This is so we have the opportunity to find an alternative placement for the guest to prevent any issues in the future.
By continuing in a placement and not highlighting any concerns about allowing a student to stay in your home while COVID positive, you are agreeing to accommodate those needs if required. We will be unable to move a guest out of a current placement if they contract COVID-19.
AHN is guided by Australian Government requirements. Travellers to Australia do not have to declare their vaccination status to enter the country, however, all incoming travellers need to comply with the testing and quarantine requirements of the state or territory of their arrival, and any other state or territory to which they plan to travel (read more).
Most COVID-19 travel restrictions have lifted to enter and leave Australia. Up-to-date information is available on the Department of Home Affairs website.
