FWO’s In-language Resource

The Fair Work Ombudsman has updated and expanded the Language Help section of its website to better meet the needs of migrant customers, including international students. The FWO’s website now delivers professionally translated content in 30 languages including Chinese (both Simplified and Traditional), Korean, Hindi, Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Filipino, Portuguese, Thai and Nepali.
The content includes downloadable resources and more detailed topic based information to address the common questions asked by migrant workers including international students. This includes information relating to:
- Payment for work
- Holidays and taking time off work
- Parental leave
- Pay slips and record-keeping
- Ending employment
- Issues in the workplace
- Feedback and Complaints.
The content also includes in-language video resources in relating to:
- Working in Australia
- Annual leave
- Personal leave
- Public holidays
- Parental leave
- Ending employment.

Existing information provided to language groups not included in the above list (Croatian, Dari, Greek, Khmer, Macedonian, Farsi, Russian, Serbian, Sinhalese, Somali, Tamil, Tongan, Turkish and Urdu) continues to be available.
The translated content can be accessed at www.fairwork.gov.au/languages. All the updated languages can be accessed using a smart URL that corresponds with a language, for example www.fairwork.gov.au/korean and www.fairwork.gov.au/hindi.
