IDP Welcomes AHN as a Value Added Services Partner

New agreement to enhance the international student experience for Chinese clients

SYDNEY, Australia –
17 May 2017
: IDP Education, a recognised global leader in international student placement services, has signed as an agent with the Australian Homestay Network (AHN). The partnership will see AHN Homestay products and services included in IDP’s Value Added Services (VAS) program.

The goal is to educate IDP Councillors in China about homestay so students and parents have access to pre-flight information about the expectations and realities of living in Australia in a homestay environment.

The initiative, initially launched for trial in six provinces in China, is already receiving positive feedback from IDP International Councillors. The successful response has led to the decision to roll out the AHN-VAS program in Vietnam and Thailand over the coming months.

AHN Business Development & Marketing Manager, Anthony Harvey, worked with colleague Coral Wehrens and IDP Manager of Student Support for Onshore Services, Laura Earl, to implement the initiative.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for IDP and AHN to work together to support and accommodate some of the 22,000 international students brought to Australia by IDP each year,” Mr Harvey said.

Mr Harvey also met with IDP Country Director, Jane Li, at the opening of the new IDP Sydney office in March.

Ms Li said she was very excited to strengthen ties with AHN and increase learning outcomes for IDP International Students, especially around improving students’ English language skills and promoting the orientation and safety that living in homestay provides.

IDP has been assisting international students in gaining access to Australian education since 1969. The company has a network of 89 international student placement centres in 32 countries around the world.
